Coblentz’s new office featured as the “Office of the Future”

Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass’ office in the Financial District embodies the firm’s Bay Area history while embracing its future in a redesigned space that breaks away from traditional law office design.

Its contemporary theme is a far cry from the firm’s former Beaux-Art styled Ferry Building location, which hit the leasing market last fall.

“As the firm continued to experience internal growth, this proved to be a challenging space for the efficient planning and densification the firm required,” said Michelle Hatton, design director with Gensler, the architecture firm responsible for the project's design.

Coblentz’ new, three-floor office at 1 Montgomery St. is a third smaller than its previous location, but offers more “social spaces,” including cafes, library spaces and collaborative areas, all of which are linked by interconnecting stairs that offer panoramic views of the bay.

The project recently won the Interior Architecture Award for Office Design from the American Institute of Architecture in San Francisco.
