FOURTEEN HASKELL SLAUGHTER LAWYERS NAMED IN INAUGURAL “ALABAMA SUPER LAWYERS”

On April 9, 2008, at Managing Intellectual Property’s 3rd Global Awards ceremony held at Claridges Hotel in London, Tilleke & Gibbins International Ltd. was announced the winner of the “Firm of the Year 2008 – Thailand" award.
T&G’s Chairman & Chief Values Officer David Lyman attended the black tie affair which commenced with a champagne reception followed by a four-course banquet and awards ceremony. Around 250 other people from law firm winners from 35 other countries attended the glittering event.
T&G also won the award last year so congratulations to the Intellectual Property Department and support staff for another outstanding performance.
THE PROCEEDS OF CRIME LAWYERS ASSOCIATION OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF POCLA
Tuesday 29 April, 2008 - a group of senior proceeds of crime lawyers have formally launched a new association aimed at bringing together practitioners who specialise in the law relating to the proceeds of crime and asset forfeiture, entitled the ‘Proceeds of Crime Lawyers Association’ (POCLA).
POCLA will attract membership from defence and in-house government lawyers, legal executives, as well as barristers who both prosecute and defend. Associate membership is open to academics, other professionals, such as receivers and money laundering reporting officers, members of the judiciary and trainees. The Association has already formulated a Constitution and will provide a series of informative lectures and events to its members throughout the legal year. Membership is priced at £30 per annum and details can be obtained either online or through Warren Foot, who is POCLA's Secretary and also head of the Proceeds of Crime Team at leading UK law firm Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons.
