Estudio Bergstein, TAGLaw member for Uruguay, acted as local counsel for Finland-based Botnia and Metsäliitto in the sale of their assets in Uruguay to fellow Finland-based corporation, UPM-Kymmene. The total
amount of the deal was US$ 2.4 billion, among the most significant M&A deals in Uruguay’s history. In Uruguay, Metsä-Botnia owned a pulp-mill (and its wood supply chain), one of the most extended investment projects in Uruguay at this time. |
