Bruce joined our Energy Law Unit in June 2003 after eight years with BP in Aberdeen. Since then, he has advised super majors such as BP and Shell, senior independents such as Talisman and Kerr McGee, junior independents such as Sterling, Mosaic and Carrizo and financiers such as Royal Bank of Scotland and Lime Rock Partners.
Bruce`s last role in BP was as commercial operations manager for the Northern Business Unit, where he led a team responsible for negotiations, economic analysis and hydrocarbon accounting for BP`s producing fields East & West of Shetland and the West of Shetland Pipeline System. Prior to this he worked as a senior business adviser, negotiating the East Foinaven unitisation and operating services agreements, as well as developing A&D opportunities and taking projects to sanction.
Before moving into a commercial role, Bruce spent four years in BP Legal, working on a broad range of oil & gas work including equity swaps, transportation & processing deals, gas sales and major procurement contracts. Bruce is listed in Chambers 2010 as a leader in his field.
