TAGLaw in the Press
TAGLaw® and TIAG®, two worldwide alliances of independent law and accounting firms, announced they were contributing over $30,000USD to the victims and to relief efforts of Hurricane Sandy, which devastated the New York and New Jersey coasts in late October. The organizations are doing so through their charitable organization, TAG Foundation.
TAG Foundation Trustees and Advisors recently met and approved the distribution for the benefit of those who suffered substantial personal loss from the storm. Contributions came from TAGLaw and TIAG members in Europe, North America and Asia, as well as from The Appleton Group (parent company of TAGLaw and TIAG) itself.
TAGLaw®, one of the world’s leading law firm alliances, conducted its 27th international conference on October 22nd to 24th at The Conrad Hotel in Brussels. Vincent Van Dessel, the CEO of NYSE Euronext Brussels, delivered a talk on the future of public markets as a vehicle of financing for small and mid-sized enterprises.TIAG®, TAGLaw's sister alliance of independent accounting firms, held its 19th international conference in parallel, and the two alliances conducted joint sessions on the third day of conference.
The value of a strong international network has never been more evident than recently, not only to the professional services firms that are network members, but perhaps even more so to the clients they serve. Corporate International explores the value TAGLaw and TIAG provide their members and clients in a supplement to the August issue.
TAG Foundation, the charitable foundation of TAGLaw® and TIAG®, contributed $5,000 to the charity ShelterBox USA during the alliances' recent international conferences in San Francisco. ShelterBox provides emergency supplies to survivors of disasters around the world.
“TAGLaw and TIAG are proud to offer this donation to ShelterBox on behalf of TAG Foundation,” said Bob Sattin, the president of the two alliances, “We began supporting ShelterBox in the wake of the tsunami that struck Fukushima, Japan. They impressed us as a charity that offered critical, life-saving help to the people most affected by a disaster. We are pleased to continue this relationship with ShelterBox by giving this donation.”
