Joohan is a senior partner in SEUM’s litigation group. He handles a wide variety of matters including criminal and civil litigation, as well as tax and administrative proceedings for both Korean and international clients. Joohan’s diverse experience also includes representation of clients in numerous high-profile cases including white collar criminal cases against CEOs of Korean conglomerates and commercial disputes between major Korean companies. A former District Court and Supreme Court judge, Joohan combines his judicial acumen with his vast private practice experience to pro-actively address potential issues and effectively advocate on behalf of clients.

Joohan began his legal career in 1990 as a Judge Advocate General in the Korean Air Force. After three years of service, he was appointed to the Southern Seoul District Court in 1993 as a judge and eventually retired from the judiciary as a senior judge of the Suwon District Court in 2008. During his 16 years a judge in the Korean court system, Joohan held several positions including senior judge of Chungju District Court, senior judge of Central Seoul District Court and senior research judge of the Korean Supreme Court. After retiring from public service, Joohan practiced as a partner at various leading Korean law firms prior to joining SEUM.
