 Michael Kavanagh is Head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. He has significant expertise acting in large and complex disputes before the Commercial Court and other divisions of the High Court.

Michael has served on the Litigation Committee of the Law Society of Ireland since 2003 and was Chairman of the Litigation Committee from 2009 - 2011.  He serves as a Law Society nominee on the Superior Court Rules Committee.

He has acted in a broad range of commercial disputes including intellectual property and I.T. disputes, breach of contract, professional negligence, building disputes and financial services litigation.  He is also renowned for acting in complex and sensitive employment and Director and Shareholder related matters for corporate clients and is head of the firm's Employment, Pensions and Employee Benefits Team.

He represents some of the largest corporates and multi-nationals in Ireland and has particular expertise in employment law and the provision of employment related legal services.

According to Chambers Global 2014 where he is recommended for Dispute Resolution, clients say: "He is transparent about the fees, manages our costs and minimises expenditure" adding that they "get a tailored, personal service and great mediation: he is a very difficult man to face down". In Chambers Europe 2014 where Michael is recommended for Dispute Resolution and Employment his clients state that he: “he knows the law very well; I am never disappointed.”  He is recognised as being among the leading lawyers in Ireland by Who's Who of Management Labour and Employment Lawyers 2013.
