Lina Uribe is a partner of the Firm where she directs the Environmental practice. She represents clients in matters involving environmental laws, regulations and policies as they relate to transactions, litigation and compliance.

Specifically, she has broad experience in:

  1. obtaining licenses and permits,
  2. the preparation of legal concepts and opinions,
  3. advice regarding the challenging of administrative resolutions from environmental authorities,
  4. advice on legal environmental actions such as collective actions and group actions, and
  5. regulations regarding management and disposal of hazardous wastes and remediation actions for contaminated sites.

In addition, Ms. Uribe has supervised due diligence investigations and negotiated contract provisions defining and allocating environmental risks and assets in multiple domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, financings and real estate developments.

Within the most representative clients of the day to day environmental advice and of advice regarding administrative proceedings and collective actions are the following: GM Colmotores, Schlumberger, IBM, Termobarranquilla, Clorox, Colombia Natural Resources, Colombia Energy Development Co., among others.

In her 15+ years of experience she has participated in several of the major M&A transactions of the firm including the merger of Bavaria and SABMiller, the sale of Carulla Vivero to Almacenes Éxito, the sale of Chrysler Colombia and the AviancaTaca alliance; she also was a key part of the team that advised this company in its landmark IPO. Lina also has broad experience in corporate transnational reorganizations acquired in her M&A and corporate practice throughout the years.
