Ms. Baillie is experienced in counseling educational institutions and businesses in matters related to employees, students, and other constituencies. 

 

Higher Education

Ms. Baillie garnered higher education experience in prior roles as in-house counsel for a large entity which had over 100 campuses in 24 states, as well as serving as general counsel for a small, private, religious institution. In these capacities, Ms. Baillie partnered with higher education clients in matters relating to students, including disclosures, discipline, discrimination, Title IX, and VAWA, accommodating disabilities, privacy, Title IV financial aid, collections, marketing, accreditation, state licensing and state authorization for distance education. Ms. Baillie has assisted clients with investigations. She has appeared before the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights on myriad student discrimination issues. Ms. Baillie enjoys writing and interpreting policies to comply with complex regulations. She has defended institutions in all sorts of litigation brought by students, faculty and others.
