SSW Recognised as One of Europe’s Most Innovative Law Firms

SSW Pragmatic Solutions, as the only independent law firm from Poland, has been shortlisted in the prestigious Innovative Lawyers ranking organised by the Financial Times. The authors of the ranking recognised SSW’s innovative business model and its pioneering approach to providing consultancy services.

This year’s edition of the FT Innovative Lawyers ranking received a record number of 800 submissions from 130 law firms and 50 internal legal departments located throughout Europe. The organisers conducted over 800 interviews with lawyers, clients and experts from the consultancy market. On that basis, they created a shortlist of the most innovative firms engaged in legal consultancy.

The FT’s analysts distinguished SSW Pragmatic Solutions in the category of Innovation in the business of law: New business and service delivery models. As such, they recognised SSW’s innovative approach to providing consultancy services: SSW’s experts provide advice, on both legal and other matters, in connection with a wide range of business areas to comprehensively meet the needs of our entrepreneurial clients. The traditional legal and tax services portfolio is expanded at SSW by other functionalities such as consultancy regarding IT, financial affairs or a wide variety of issues handled by our Family Office. Additionally, SSW’s experts provide legal project management services outside Poland.

Piotr Spaczyński, managing partner at SSW Pragmatic Solutions, notes that “Standard legal consultancy has become increasingly common, but it doesn’t provide significant value to clients unless it forms part of a comprehensive solution that focuses on the client’s particular business needs. Clients want a finished solution, not only legal advice.

Another important success factor is SSW Pragmatic Solutions’ strategy to expand beyond the local market. SSW’s lawyers and experts have already begun consultancy projects that extend much further than the Polish market. Barbara Lenarcik, marketing and business development director at SSW, states: “One such example is a joint product offered in conjunction with a Canadian law firm (Osler). The «Canada Box» (www.ceta.solutions) enables entrepreneurs to enter the Canadian market. A corresponding SSW product, for the benefit of entrepreneurs from Canada, is known as the «EU Box»”.

A full shortlist of the FT’s Innovative Lawyer ranking is available at the FT website. The winners of the ranking will be announced on 12 September during a ceremony in London.
