New Zealand TAGLaw Member Meredith Connell Launches Free Guide to Pronouncing Chinese Surnames
Meredith Connell has recently launched a free public resource to the legal sector and wider communities, called the MC Guide to Chinese Surnames.
The MC Guide to Chinese Surnames is an online learning tool that teaches users how to spell, translate and pronounce Chinese Surnames.
As New Zealand’s largest litigation firm, Meredith Connell has a strong Chinese client base and a Chinese speaking team. In the last decade, New Zealand’s two way trade with China has tripled, meaning more investors are looking for opportunities in New Zealand and will need legal advice to do so. The guide was created to help the firm's lawyers connect with new and existing clients and ensure fair representation of them.
More than 85% of China’s 1.3 billion people use the same 100 surnames. The MC Guide to Chinese Surnames includes all of those in one handy place called the Top 100, therefore making it easier for non-Chinese people to learn and understand the language. The guide is freely available on Meredith Connell’s website to anyone who wants to use it.
